Don't look now, but there's a big fight breaking out over a move to desegregate the schools in suburban Howard County, MD, one of the wealthiest counties in the country, just at the moment that busing has flared up as an issue in the presidential race.

"Signs like 'No Forced Busing' and 'Don’t Dismantle Communities' are appearing in protests in front of River Hill High, where nearly everyone is affluent and very few are black or Hispanic."

Note: this is in the county where James Rouse created the integrated idyll of Columbia.
"The anti-redistricting group 'Families for Education Improvement' has recommendations.

'A reference to a long bus ride is acceptable, any reference to forced busing is not. "I love my school" is acceptable while "I don’t want to go to (fill in the blank) school" is not.'"
