Republicans are supporting the raiding of military construction money for the Wall. Here are some of the projects that they are defunding:
FORT GREELY, ALASKA – 8 MILLION this money was to be used to enhance our missile defense to increase the number of interceptors in the case of a North Korean ICBM.
FORT HUACHUCA, ARIZONA – 30 MILLION - this is an army ground vehicle maintenance facility which is, in the Army’s words, “substandard and unsafe.”
FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA – 33 MILLION - this is to fix an elementary school that the Marine Corps calls “deficient, inadequate, and undersized.”
FORT CAMPBELL, KENTUCKY – 62 MILLION – this is to fix a school that the Army says is substandard and hampers the educational process.
CAMP LEGEUNE, NORTH CAROLINA – 15 MILLION – this is a dental facility that is currently so bad that the DOD says it results in “compromised readiness, uncoordinated care delivery, and inappropriate use of medical resources.”
JOINT BASES PEARL HARBOR – HICKAM, HAWAII – 5.5 MILLION – This is a consolidation of facilities that are currently substandard, temporary and according to the Air force, “marginal.”
This is a partial list of the 126 projects and the 3.6 billion dollars being raided for the Wall. I gotta go do a thing. More later.
