Sexual Intercourse is different from Sexual Contact!

One is penetrative, the other is not, let’s call it ‘Merry-go-rounding’🤦🏽‍♀️

Just a reminder that you can get HPV infection from Sexual contact as much as from Intercourse.

This means a Virgin can contact HPV!

HPV- Human Papilloma Virus is a viral STI with many strains. Low risk ( Causing Genital warts) and High risk (Causing Cancers: Cervical, Penile, Anal, Oral).

All it takes is for an uninfected person to come in close body contact with infected area. Do condoms offer protection?👇🏽

Use condoms. They are protective, from STIs. And also prevent unwanted pregnancy.
However, when it comes to HPV, condoms don’t offer complete protection. This is Cos, they can only cover a limited area of the genitalia. And contact with any infected area can lead to infection.

Moral: You can contact HPV from Oral, Anal as well as vaginal sex. HPV is the leading cause of Cervical cancer in women. Penile Cancer In men. And also causes Oral and Anal cancers.

Every sexually active woman should get screened today. A Pap smear/HPV screening every 3-5 yrs 👌

How to be safe;
1) Abstinence
2) Safe Sexual practices
3) Avoid Multiple Sexual partners or a Partner with multiple sexual partners.
4) Get Vaccinated against HPV. From age 9-26 is best for both sexes.
5) Ladies, get screened for #cervicalcancer from age 21 if sexually active

The earlier you’re vaccinated, the better for you. Parents, don’t jeopardize the future of your children. Vaccinate them today!
