Update: The only portion of the meeting that will be public today is when the superintendent meets with parents at 5:05 PM.

He is also meeting with assistant principals, counselors, coaching staff, teachers, classified staff, and students. Those meetings begin at 1 PM. #HSOT
According to an email obtained by HSOT, Johnston County interim superintendent Dr. Jim Causby is meeting with Clayton High School assistant principals right now about the ongoing investigation. #HSOT
Same email says Causby will meet with Clayton HS counselors at 1:25 PM, coaching staff at 1:55 PM, other teachers at 2:25 PM, classified staff at 2:55 PM, students at 4:30 PM, and parents at 5:05 PM. #HSOT
I’m at Clayton HS for the meeting with superintendent. Media isn’t being let in until 5:00. Students are meeting privately with the superintendent at 4:30. Parent meeting scheduled for 5:05 PM. #HSOT

Causby: “There are things I can share with you and there are things I can’t. I will not mislead you.” #HSOT

Causby says we will stay here as long as needed to answer questions tonight. He said he’s not sticking to the 30-minute schedule. #HSOT
Causby: “I don’t know totally why it happened,” talking about Bennett Jones’ transfer. Says the previous superintendent did it. #HSOT
Causby: “If it had been me, (the investigation) would have been handled differently.” He said it should have been an outside entity that investigated because Jones’ grievance was against the superintendent. #HSOT
Causby: This investigation “has gotten out of hand.” #HSOT
Causby: There is NO EVIDENCE of any wrongdoing by the football team. #HSOT
Causby: There is investigation that deals with finances of school. #HSOT
BREAKING: Dr. Jim Causby, interim superintendent at Johnston County Schools, just confirmed that 6 of the 13 students identified Friday as having graduated without required credits have been CLEARED. #HSOT
Causby: 4 of the 13 students reported Friday never walked or received a diploma at Clayton. 2 of the 13 had proper credits. The other 7 are being reviewed still. #HSOT
Causby: Of the 13 kids in question, only ONE was an athlete. #HSOT
Causby: Any rumor about NC State football players from Clayton HS being involved in this investigation is FALSE. They are not involved. #HSOT
Causby says he met with former Clayton principal Dr. Bennett Jones for 2.5 hours yesterday. #HSOT
Causby: “I would not have a done an anonymous survey ... it just allows all kinds of stuff.” #HSOT
Causby said he can reinstate Bennett Jones as principal if he thinks it’s the right thing to do, but he’s not going to speculate on that and he’s not going to do it until the grievance process is over. #HSOT
Causby: The investigation was done internally by Human Resources and was led by the school board attorney. #HSOT
Causby: “It’s too late now” to bring in an outside investigator. #HSOT
Causby: Bennett Jones has a document that is about 70-pages long to support his arguments. #HSOT
