Hughes his wife and three children
Told his wife he had a pleasant surprise for her
Gave the wife a high cheque
"The money is for your parents, God said I should bless them"
The wife was overjoyed!
He told the wife to buy some goodies and travel home
The driver drove them to the village
They planned on spending the weekend
Her parents were overjoyed
Their son-in-law has extended a hand of love to them
The money he sent was enough for them to build a house in the village
The village was five hours away from the city
They got home around 7pm to meet an empty house
The loving husband she left behind was gone
She started making calls
What could have happened?
Where was the father of her children?
Well, not just a pastor but the General Overseer of a young upwardly mobile ministry
The ministry started when he was an undergraduate
He was a vibrant, Holy Ghost filled minister of the Gospel
He was born to preach
She was one his his earliest members
He had moved in with a sister in the church choir
The sister joined the church less than a year before then
Nobody was quite familiar with her
It was a church member that saw the pastor in one obscure area at the outskirts of the city
He said he was no longer interested in his family and ministry
He had found the purpose of his destiny
It lied in between the thighs of the choir member
She was the refreshing water from the well by the gate of Bethlehem David longed for
How could this have happened?
The church leaders sat with the wife
How did this happen?
The wife was short of words
She said all they had ever known was ministry
They got married early and life rushed in fast
They drifted apart a little
Sex became boring and adventurous
She was the one that suggested a threesome
She learnt it could help the imagination
She just wasn't feeling the sex anymore
Everything felt flat
The friend told her about the new sister in the choir who used to be a sex therapist
They did a threesome
He was reluctant and she was sceptical
But they had to try something
Spice things up a bit!
It worked
He grew into it
He was happier and so was she
How could he abandon everything to live in a slum with a slut?
Church members were disappointed
Many left
Like Samson, their pastor was a sinner, he broke the edge
The serpent had swallowed him
The church was in disarray
Misery!
His wife, battling guilt and single parenthood was frustrated
She reached out to the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
'Your brother is lost' she cried
They met and she opened up
"It was my fault but I believe he can be restored, please help!'
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt didn't know such a place existed in the biggest city in their country
The stench of the slum was the death of the imagination
It had to be abnormal to leave opulence and choose to live like a sewer rat
It was a room
There was a net door
The lady was outside the room washing plates
As soon as she saw his wife, she dropped the plate and ran into the room
She wanted to lock the door but the brother in Jeans and T-shirt pushed the door
She shifted ground
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt ignored her
He stepped into the room
He saw his brother, the pastor
Lying down on the mat, starring into space like someone in a trance
"How have the mighty fallen"
He wept!
It was not a sight to see and be calm
It was like seeing Samson without His hair and eyes
It was the sight of a fallen star
"My brother, the Holy Spirit said it is time for us to fellowship together, let us go" The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt said
"Can I dress up or can we go like this" he asked
"We are leaving Sodom and Gomorrah behind, we will take nothing with us" replied the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
The lady called his name
He looked at her, shook his head and they left
No drama, no struggle
They fellowshipped
The pastor, his wife and the Brother in Jeans and T-shirt
Praying in the spirit for three hours
His wife couldn't stop weeping
After some time, the Holy Spirit took the pastor over
Power surged!
When he was done
The Brother in Jeans and T-shirt agreed with him
The pastor embraced his wife and returned home
The ministry began again from the scratch
It's been five years
Happy Birthday MoG!
