By this #ft #interview #georgesoros has confirmed that it is all about regime change and never about business.

His attempt at taking down #adani was to purely step 1 to kill the source of corporate funding.

Remember one thing apart from having brought the Bank of England to its
knees with his short selling attack on the pound sterling this man is responsible for having insinuated several regime change campaigns across the globe.

His most political active and successful campaign of the past has been the #ArabSpring uprising.
His primary target is always the youth and wokism the main technique. #blacklivesmatter is also believed to be his baby that nailed Trump.

He works on behalf of corporate America that run brands which mainly interact with the youth.

If you just tuned in, you will see how Iran's TL is full of images and videos of protests all over the country following the death of #Mahsa_Amini who was accused of improper wearing of Hijab.
Here are few thoughts. 1/
Since I attended late Shah funeral in Egypt, I developed deep interest in Iran, which increased immensely, after I visited the country years ago. Unlike Egyptians, the people of Iran fully understand the pain of living under an Islamists regime and have no illusions about it 2/
Protests against Islamic Republic is not new:
-1999 Students protests
-2009 Presidential election
-2011/12 protests (influenced by Arab spring)
-2018/19 strikes & protests against economic situation
-2021 uprising of thirsty due water shortage
All failed to uproot the regime 3/

Memories of spending close to a decade working with @SavetheChildren for children and families affected by conflict in #Syria, #Iraq, #Somalia, #Myanmar, #Palestine, and many other places. And losing #cynicism, finding #purpose, and changing my perspective on conflict and war. /2
In 2011, I was sitting in an air conditioned office at @WorldBank in Washington DC. I thought I had landed my dream job. But instead I had tasted #bureaucracy, #hierarchy and the #cynicism of organizational politics. If you had met the 2011 version of myself, you would agree. /3

Chinese will feel bolstered by @JoeBiden openly stating commitment in #OneChina US Policy. So tighten your belts to witness more belligerence and aggressive postures from China in #IndoPacific. US allies must be in pain ! @india_narrative:
So are we a witness to the steady decline of United States Of America, its imposing economy, its power to influence world opinion & above all its capability and capacity to defend its interests at all costs. Has it not ceded space willingly to China despite no USSR ?
The steady decline of America a superpower, has many far reaching ramifications, both political and geographical within America & outside America too. Many a reasons added to the decline of US. Foremost was the decline & annihilation of its massive industry set up all across US.

The #ArabSpring may have been sparked by an Arab man — Mohamed Bouazizi, the #Tunisian street vendor who set himself on fire in desperation — but they will be finished by Arab women.…
Until the rage shifts from the oppressors in our presidential palaces to the oppressors on our street corners and in our homes, our revolution has not even begun.

When people took to the streets Dec. 2010...they were calling for employment, freedom, dignity.I think they weren't ready to accept freedom means all freedoms...women's freedom, sexual freedom, individual freedom. They're not ready for such a revolution

1/. "We now have a weapon. It’s called Tahrir Square"

An activist told me this in 2011, after the #ArabSpring had spread there from Tunisia

It was a heady time

It that felt change was possible

10 years on, it's hard not to look back on those times without a painful nostalgia
2/. Over the last decade, I've watched as the #ArabSpring turned quickly into the #ArabWinter & the dreams of so many turned sour or were crushed

The civil war in Syrian for has cost 590,000 lives & displaced millions of people

And yet the hope lives on…
3/. The energy of the #ArabSpring spilled around the world

People were thinking about alternatives

The Occupy Movement attempted to give space to that thinking

Jefferson wrote “A little rebellion is a good thing”

But maybe "a little" isn't quite enough…

1. Protest started to #EndSARS .
Govt disband #SARS ,came up with #SWAT & Protesters switch demand to Govt must #EndSWAT.
Solution :
Maybe Govt should #EndPoliceNG,grant automatic employment to all protesters into the #NewPoliceNG
So that protester go rest from more demands😂
2. Some might find my above tweet offensive ,bt honestly, I owe no one an apology.
I have read tweets about people saying the beauty about the protest is "there are no leaders" hence ,the ability for government to "buy" people & "circumvent" the protest doesn't arise.
Stupid talk
3. So, even amongst the protesters, they don't trust themselves to be honest and these are Nigerians who all belong to the larger society, professional (bankers, medical, media, security ,legal, engineers, security experts etc) and future leaders of our great country .

At the height of the #BlackLivesMatter protests, we started to hear heartbreaking feedback from clients, recent asylees, horrified at what they were seeing happening in America and beginning to wonder if they had made a mistake coming to seek safety in this country.

Many of them found themselves reliving or being reminded of the same persecution they had fled.

The curfews in effect during #ArabSpring. The military brutalizing peaceful protests. The rise of fascism under this administration. . . .

Our client Chris who was granted asylum 9/19, had been studying to be a lawyer before he escaped the Cameroonian Civil War w his mother. He asked us, "I don't understand. I thought in America the police + military were meant to protect you. Why are they the ones harming us?"

Before going to bed, just wanted to share what happened in the great #ArabSpring. Many of my friends lived through this people’s revolution & shared their stories of fighting oppression with me. Seems apt for what is happening in #Maharashtra today. Image
Sparked by the death of a fruit and vegetable seller in #Tunisia, Mohamed Bouazizi, protesters in neighbouring countries including Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen, embraced the idea that they too could make a difference. Image
#ArabSpring was a series of pro-democracy uprisings that enveloped several countries. The events in these nations began in the spring of 2011, which led to the name. The political & social impact of these popular uprisings remains significant, years after many of them ended.

The politicization of online fandoms is always weird. Most fandoms (usually) have no intrinsic political valence, and indeed, a common strong affinity for an apolitical genre can make strange allies, bringing together people of very different politics.

I remember going to Dungeons and Dragons club in Toronto in the 1980s and bailing early to go to anti-nuclear proliferation protests, to the absolutely shock and dismay of the far-right types who found their way into the hobby through wargaming.

This makes for some bitter splits when a majority (or large minority) of a fandom decides to politicize. The closest I came to quitting SFWA was when the board unwisely promulgated a loyalty oath stating "respect for intellectual property" was a condition of membership.

1. @khamenei_ir's statement needs to be seen in the context of the "Battle for Dominance" of the Islamic World between Iran and Saudi Arabia

Riyadh's position as the leader of the Muslims has been under threat from Tehran right after the Islamic Revolution of 1979
2. The genesis of this war is a war of ideologies among the two sects of Islam ; 'Shia' and 'Sunni' with Sunnis being the dominant population in the Middle East , North Africa , Pakistan , Indonesia , India and Malaysia.
3. The Muslim populations of most of these countries look towards Saudi Arabia (Custodian of Mecca and Medina) or Iran for support and guidance on issues of religious conflict , regional conflict , social trends and laws. It is a dotted line relationship.

THREAD 🧵Syria & Turkey

What is going on in Turkey/Syria & why are some Republicans and Democrats jointly upset about the decision to pull American troops out of Syria? This thread will help explain… (VERY simplified explanation). Image
1/ Who are the Kurds?
The Kurds are a minority ethnic group, mostly spread out over Turkey, Syria, Iraq & Iran. They’ve never achieved nation-state status and historically experience persecution wherever they go. No country has a Kurdish majority.
2/ During #ArabSpring, in an effort to destroy ISIS, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was created. It’s a military alliance backed by the US. The People’s Protection Units or YPG (a faction of a Kurdish militant group) was the most successful in fighting ISIS, so THEY took...

Bad weather in the United States and disease in China are threatening food shortages globally and massive inflation. Our national security and stability is at stake over the next few years.
One of the biggest reasons inflation has remained so low over the past half decade is record growing seasons in the United States and Russia for #corn #wheat and #soybeans However this year is the worst season on record as cold, rainy weather delayed #plant19 by several weeks.
Planting progress for all three crops was beyond dismal this year. In fact, it was the slowest planting progress ever on record and many farmers simply chose to skip this year.
