Currently there is a discussion to create a new #TRON code upgrade & proposal. The code upgrade would automatically distribute the SR rewards which are currently being airdropped by each individual SR. The proposal would alter the voting rewards schema. We want your feedback.
One of our hesitations comes from the distribution mechanism. If voters are rewarded the same way the SR’s are - using the “allowance” payout feature - there is no record of the earnings breakdown. Voters should know exactly how much each SR paid them.
The other thing to discuss is a proposed change to the reward payout. Currently, every block pays 32 TRX to the block producer, and 16 TRX to the top 100 SR’s, divided by % of the vote. Talk is to make that 16 #TRX and 160 #TRX. This has many pros and cons.
Combined with the automatic reward distribution system, the new 160 TRX per block voter based reward is designed to increase staking and participation in the #TRON blockchain. IIRC it’s about a 20% annual return. The SR can dial in a share ratio and keep some.
The cons of this idea are that the new payout would more than triple the amount of TRX that is currently being forged daily. It also puts a disproportionate emphasis on the role of the voter vs. the block producer. The SR is tasked with community & app development, after all.
As a voter, do you need to see where your rewards are coming from, or is it more important to have an automatic distribution mechanism?
As a #TRON #TRX holder, do you think an increase in voter rewards is worth the added dilution to TRX value?
