Anyone familiar with corporate organization and management in the UK?

I'm wondering - is it standard practice to backdate the removal of a corporate officer to the date of their death?
Or... does this mean that Ghislaine Maxwell's family had the papers to remove him from office on hand so they could drop them off before flying down to the Canary Islands to fetch his bloated corpse - I think I remember it being 11 - 12?
There certainly wouldn't be enough time to deal with getting a body out of a foreign country and coming back to deal with the paperwork later in the afternoon, would there?
