Oh God. This... seems totally plausible. One of the two “favors” Trump sought from a foreign leader seems to have been premised on the completely false impression that the U.S. firm Crowdstrike is Ukranian, and could cough up some DNC server...
Of course, California-based Crowdstrike long ago gave the FBI both analysis and forensic images of the DNC servers. The obsession with a supposedly missing “server” is a symptom of conspiracy theorists convinced Russia was falsely blamed for an “inside job.”

This part is honestly just kind of funny. Can only assume the other end of the call was wondering what the hell he was on about.
What Trumpoids are trying to spin as a legitimate request to probe 2016 interference is nothing of the sort. It’s a very confused attempt to solicit fodder for a baseless conspiracy theory that casts doubt on whether Russia hacked the DNC to help Trump.
This is a notch short of “I’m hoping you can help us track down the DNC hit squad that killed Seth Rich.”
I guess the silver lining is that he’s so mixed up about the facts that there’s not really anything Ukraine could have done for him on that score.
But also amusing that Trump is talking nonsense that must have been totally unintelligible to the Ukranians, but their response is still “Oh, yes Mr. President, we’ll get right on that! <Someone figure out what the hell he’s talking about.>”
FWIW, this suggests that Trump himself believes the conspiracy theories. The request only makes sense if Trump genuinely still doesn’t comprehend that there is no “missing server.”
