I finally watched The Shining and my biggest takeaway is that this movie is about white people and their cabins

It was good while still showing off all the problems I have w horror movies. Why the fuck you go to a scary hotel all alone? The phone's not working and there's a blizzard coming? No it's not "fine", LEAVE. A maze? You're going in a maze? Dafuq is wrong with you?

You just DROPPED the fucking knife? And why were you just randomly running around the hotel AFTER SEEING FUCKING GHOSTS? I just can't with horror movies.

I know it's a trope, but white people in horror movies, always just checking shit out and refusing to gtfo when ghosts and all are like "leave."
