Facebook's upcoming "news" tab sounds like an absolute train wreck

"Facebook will highlight only publishers that rated above a certain level of trustworthiness in surveys the company conducted...last year."

This is from a company that has DAILY CALLER do its fact checking
The page, which Facebook says will be limited to trustworthy outlets, may include BREITBART

The company is including Breitbart, which has laundered white nationalist talking points, to avoid claims of conservative bias

I reported that the Daily Caller reviewed a post by the "Rowdy Republican" page that had a dangerous scam targeting people with diabetes.

The Daily Caller rated it TRUE

1. Last Thursday, I reported that Facebook had made a change to the language in its advertising policy and now politicians like Trump were explicitly able to LIE in Facebook ads.

Today, in a new Facebook ad, Trump is taking full advantage of it.

2. The Facebook ad released today is a 2 minute video which is almost entirely premised on the idea that Trump has released a TRANSCRIPT of his call with the Ukrainian president.

That is a lie.

Trump has not released a transcript.

Information is truly powerful sometimes. People for the most part do not really seem to understand the big danger we are in. Yes people often do not trust the government, but that is different. Once eyes do open, then imagine the collective anger. Once things get to a tipping
point, the anger often tends to build and get reinforced with those that have similar opinions. What we are doing is NOT just supporting a candidate in a presidential race. We are slowly unmasking an entire hidden world behind the lie we were told is our world. Reality itself
can then seem a lie. It is huge. Every part of the system they thought to be essentially divine and past the point of ever being like the other corrupt places, is in many ways worse.

Now you see again why the ramp up had to take time to build? The literal safety and stability
