I had a niece in the Highway 51 crowd in Vegas 10/1/17 when a conspiracist nutcase opened fire and killed 73 people and wounded another 400. She barely escaped with her life and is permanently traumatized.

Eventually, it will touch every single one of us.

1) Thinking about Brownshirts today, and about how they used the figment of a "violent left" in the late '20s and early '30s to gain legitimacy and rise to power.

2) The theme of the noble Nazi coming to the aid of his fallen comrade was a popular trope. This piece was titled "SA Man Rescuing Wounded Comrade in Streets," by H.O. Hoyer.
3) This appeal was central to the Nazis' ongoing campaign to portray itself as the sole effective defender of mainstream society against the threat of an evil, nefarious, left that was part of a global conspiracy, emanating then from Russia. It largely worked.

I'm old enough to remember when right-wing militiamen and Trump supporters were preparing to have a civil war if Trump lost. All the way back in 2016.
Also old enough to recall how they quickly shifted to raving paranoia about a massive "Deep State" conspiracy to remove Trump from office in a "coup." That was all the way back in 2017.
One reason perhaps not to worry: Milo has volunteered to be the leader of this civil war.

My heart breaks at the news of another mass shooting by a white male on Saturday, August 31 in Odessa, Texas.

Since the last series of mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton just four weeks ago, I have devoted significant time to studying the Second Amendment.
