Erick Erickson (@EWErickson), you are a living embodiment of a faction within the GOP that created the conditions which allowed Trump (or his handlers) to successfully hijack the party and transform it into an ugly admixture of overt racism and insane Reactionary delusions.

You were a good soldier for Ralph Reed and his crowd, back in the day.

And all of you guys worked really hard to convince a lot of gullible people that “compromise” was an unforgivable sin. Barbara Bush once offered a rather explicit rebuke to your style of politics.

Trump initially made you nervous, because 1.) you knew that he was a man of very dubious character, and 2.) you knew he had consorted with a lot of celebrity Democrats, like the Clintons, and 3.) there was no evidence whatsoever that he was a Christian or pro-life.

So, you were sort of anti-Trump, for a while— in the same way that the Cruz Crew was pretty anti-Trump, for a while.

What all of you guys said, at that time, was, “He’s not Conservative enough!”

What you really meant was, “He’s not a true Reactionary.”

But, Trump offered his Reactionary bona fides, so to speak— he appointed fringe lunatics (Seb Gorka, Mike Flynn, Stephen Miller, etc.) to positions of authority; he initiated deranged policies shaped by characters like David Clarke and Joe Arpaio.

But, once all of these anti-Trump holdouts (various Evangelicals, the Cruz crew, and the Ralph Reed brigades) were all satisfied that Trump was going to, more or less, give them what they wanted (especially JUDGES!) they all got on board the Trump Train, just as Cruz had.

The Faustian bargain that you made with Trump is now going to bite you in the ass!

In exchange for your judges, you had to excuse obvious criminality and florid immorality. In exchange for Gorsuch, you allowed a pack of sociopathic predators to be held unaccountable.

I assume that when you were in seminary you had to take a few courses in things like systematic morality, Christian ethics, etc.— yes?

Your professors should be ashamed of you! There are children in cages and separated families in Concentration Camps.

And all that you can say, in response to these demonic policies, is, “But, Gorsuch...”

You have demonstrated yourself to be somebody with no moral authority whatsoever. You are no less deranged than the man that you have been defending and exalting for quite some time now.

I don’t think that you learned much about idolatry when you were at seminary. You seem to be genuinely unaware of the fact that God has spelled out pretty clearly that He doesn’t want you to bow down to any golden calf.

Here’s the thing, Erick: America sees through your bullshit. America is realizing— with splendid clarity— that people like YOU are the ones who, in a very real sense, ALLOWED Trump to desecrate the VERY MEANING OF AMERICA, with his intentionally cruel and inhumane policies.

For several years now, Erick, while you have been taking Mercer money, Donald Trump has been overtly mocking pretty much everything that ordinary decent Americans believe in.

You know, things like honesty, rule of law, and vague notions that “nobody is above the law.”

For the last few years, you’ve been paid pretty good money to defend Trump and his demonic policies. And you’ve done a fairly good job of duping a lot of Cultists into believing your gnostic and apocalyptic bullshit.

But, all of that will end very soon now.

And when it does finally end— when the bunker is finally overrun— you will be identified as a propagandist for this horde of predators.

You will NEVER EVER be able to rid yourself of the indelible stain (and stench) of Trumpism.

Nobody cares what you think anymore.

You need to get off Twitter. You need to stop pretending that you’re some kind of “pundit”— you’re a third-rate hack, you’re a transparent propagandist, and you’re a rank Tribalist.

There is a difference between being a Conservative and a Reactionary. You are the latter.

You need to get a REAL JOB, Erick. Find something that you’re good at. Your suggestion of a Pence-Haley ticket is a clear indication that you are no good at either punditry or propaganda.

You’re irrelevant. You’re the past. We’re moving on. You should too.

You are publicly embarrassing yourself, Erick. You are floundering around, desperately trying to figure out if there’s some way that you might not go down with Trump. That’s what your stupid Pence-Haley idea was— a transparent attempt to find some flotsam to cling to.

Everything that Trump touches dies.

There are no exceptions to this rule.

You have allowed yourself to be used by Trump and his gang of predators. You have catechized his Cultists.

Your career will end with his. There is no life after Trump.
