Under his regime, we had a fake ceasefire at the LOC, preventing IA from using firepower to deter PA troops from infiltrating into India. We could merely engage them once they were across. Again, references exist.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha But this was not enough for MMS and co, he essentially kept the Armed Forces in a pathetic state of unpreparedness. The AFs primary fighter the Su30 was at 45% serviceability and our WWR, were empty in many critical areas. The cost of fixing both was huge and left to the next GOI

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha When VK Singh spoke up about both WWR and corruption, including the disgraceful Tatra scandal, he was promptly disgraced by a pliant media and the DOB issue raked up to have him.move out. The TDS setup by him to prevent 26/11 attacks, including its officers were targeted.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha This literally forced a CAS to enter politics, a hitherto unprecedented event, another win for MMS and cabal. But I am still not done. It took Modi post Pathankot to stock take the parlous state of our military and fix procedural issues.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha Right now, the WWR10i has been largely fixed and Su30/AF serviceability is in the higher digits allowing IAF to go to war as necessary. Furthermore, Parrikar dragged Tejas out of the limbo, supported ATAGS, Pinaka and multiple other programs. We ove him a vote of thanks.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha Let's be very clear about this MMS was a total and utter ffailure when it came to national security and widespread corruption. His tenure saw both the military, economy hollowed. We ALL paying for his sins today. Multiple GOI will have to fix gaping holes in military and NPAs.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha Just take a look at the sheer disaster that are the PSBs and PSUs, and events like the purchase of unnecessary Boeings by Air India. Literally anyone could do anything they wanted at the taxpayers cost during MMSs tenure and they did.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha Worst part was he left our entire financial system an utter and total wreck. Scams galore, huge piles of NPA under every corner, and the end result is any follow on Govt literally gas no fiscal leeway to deal with these issues without taking on huge amounts of toxic assets.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha One can argue MMS was personally honest and did not personally benefit from all these dubious activities. In which case, we can well ask is that what it means to be PM?

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha This open season on the Indian economy will take us a decade to fix. We are now paying the price for his actions. From PSUs to oil firms, we are having to scrounge cash reserves take on debt to fund both the NPA issue and simultaneously run a welfare program.

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha And that welfare, toilets, cooking gas, roads, this, that program is necessary because public claims of rostmy GDP apart,many parts of rural India remained a complete HDI disaster.

All that was done was string the military along, and blacklisting firms after the horses bolted. From Leonardo, to IMI - two of our key suppliers, we blacklisted both, while leaving the gaps..

@Vakil_Raghu @RanaKumbha MMS was arguably one of the worst disasters to have struck India as PM. A man completely unsuited for the role and one with no political heft of his own to resist the actions of others.
