America turns its back on those who fought alongside us when it mattered most. We just toss these hard-built relationships away like yesterday's paper. Why should we be trusted when we need a local population to work with us militarily in the future? It's disgusting & it's wrong.
Those Kurds who fought so hard and just kicked ISIS's ass to bloody hell doing the entire world a huge favor, and at massive cost, could now get slaughtered by a big regular army belonging to America's ally and a NATO member, with what seems to be our tacit permission. Sickening
And it's not just this, look at the interpreters and other folks who risked everything to help us in Iraq and Afghanistan. We have abandoned so many of them even though they face certain death at home. Why? How does this help us?
The U.S. Gov can strike any target on earth in a matter of hours but it cannot immigrate our best friends who saved American lives with their service in a timely manner? We have a very small attention span as a country. This will bite us horribly strategically in the future.
This isn't just a who is in office thing, this has been happening for a long time. We can change it. We must.
