Every single air defense system on earth is remarkably vulnerable to destruction by small drones. You need to get them within range to launch, but beyond that, it is just a saturation/numbers game. And yes, even Iron Dome. 1/2
Think of what the US has blown on ballistic missile defense over the last decade, yet they sat on this & did nothing until ISIS drones were literally dropping bomblets on Iraqi troops in Mosul. 2/3
A few of us screamed about it for years. Warned and warned. Nothing happened but tire kicking. Shows the astonishing lack of vision within the DoD for 'unsexy' low-end threats and solutions that won't line a prime defense contractor's pockets for decades.

If you think the Saudi Arabia attack was jarring, imagine what a peer state could do? Why spend billions on a stealth fighter to take out air defenses when you can do it with hundreds of suicide drones for a fraction of the cost?
And the numbers are way on the side of relatively cheap drone swarms, not 'exquisite' weapon systems.
Maybe the loafers in Congress will get smart and start actually asking the right questions to our military brass about this. And if you think America's MOST strategic locales have any robust defenses against this, you are totally wrong or have been lied to.

People are mentioning direct fire systems (guns here), we are talking about dozens or hundreds of drones descending on a target at once. We are way, way past a CIWS type concept here. Read the article, it will explain all this.
