O'Rourke's proposal would violate the constitutionally protected rights not to have a government benefit denied based on religious exercise or viewpoint.

Living in a free country means neither O'Rourke nor anybody else can impose religious beliefs on others. That's good.
And, BTW, this, to me, looks a lot like O'Rourke is doing damage to the more viable candidates. He's obviously not going to be the nominee, and he's unlikely to be the VP pick.

And yet he's tossing bombs like "hell, yes, we're going to take your AR-15" and this.
I suppose the best thing to say about it is that he makes even the more progressive candidates look less goofy.
Like, what are the three things most animating Trump voters?

Church/culture war.
Guns.
Immigration.
