The “Muslims” that Arfa puts in quotes are tired of those who have kept the country hostage to their thinking. Those who want to move on. It’s ppl like them who have made Muslim irrelevant politically & now talk about being 2nd class citizens. How did it come to pass?
I see many pieces where the author passes his/her opinion as “Indian Muslims”. No basis for that. Muslims are not a monolith.
The reason some Muslims however small their numbers be back the BJP is because they are overshadowed & their voices not heard by those who put Muslims in quotes. These ppl were patronised by Cong. It’s funny these ppl talk about bigotry while putting other muslim in quotes
The other day Azim Premji went to RSS HQ. That generated a meltdown within those who put Muslims in quotes. Name calling started. Again the idea is, we expect Muslims to abide by what we think is good for them. Otherwise we will put you in quotes.
You are Sanghi, Saffron Muslim, Sarkari Musalman, Sell out, a “Muslim” - if you don’t toe Islamist line. You are expected to perpetuate the stereotypes created around Muslims, play victim & not break out of it.
The media loves the idiots as it gets TRPs. Funny part is, they call bigots on their show to discuss “Hindu” bigotry. What’s more funny is that the same anchors then come to Twitter & crib about where we are heading.
