If Ecuador weren't a right-wing US client state, this video of Ecuadorian army trucks driving through crowds of protesters would go viral and go down in history like the Tiananmen Square tank photo

But when the US supports violent repression, it's ignored
Ecuador's US-backed right-wing regime is deploying massive armored vehicles in crowded streets, while its troops and police shoot anti-austerity protesters.

This is after the regime just imposed a 3 pm curfew!

This is the extreme violence of capitalism
Basically all the lies that the US government and corporate media claim about Venezuela are actually happening right now in Ecuador:

An undemocratic corrupt regime is using extreme violence to repress a mass uprising against wildly unpopular IMF austerity
thegrayzone.com/2019/10/07/ecu…
Nothing to see here, just the US-backed right-wing Ecuadorian regime threatening to sic huge dogs on people who go out after the 3 pm (!) curfew

If Venezuela carried out a fraction of this violent repression, it would be 24/7 news. In Ecuador it's ignored
Snipers have been spotted on roofs, shooting at anti-austerity protesters in Ecuador

When US-backed right-wing regimes kill protesters, it's totally fine. The corporate media certainly won't publicize it; they're too busy focusing on demonizing US enemies
Terrifying. A protester in Ecuador with a shield of flimsy cardboard got SHOT BY A SNIPER. He fell to the ground, his comrades shouting "They killed him!"

If this were Venezuela it would be 24/7 headline news. But Ecuador's rightwing regime is a US puppet
An independent alternative media outlet summarizes the situation of violent repression by the regime in Ecuador:
- 7 dead
- 937 wounded
- 1,127 detained
- curfew after 3 pm, imposed by President Moreno
- government cut the TV signal for teleSUR in Ecuador
