Here's the deal #America; whatever you had before, forget it. That is all gone. The moment Trump violated the law and nothing was done (day 1), rule of law in the States was over. The Presidential lawyer claims the President is above the law. It's been 1,000 days since then.
In those 1000 days, the President has whittled the 3 branches of government down to 1.5. There is the Executive (which OWNS the Judicial, for the most part, and the Senate), vs. the House. Without major legislation or changes, the President has crippled checks and balances.
The President owns the Justice Department. He owns the Supreme Court and Senate. The Reps continue to pack all courts with Trumpers (44 in a single day!). This is like John Gotti being in complete charge of the Justice Dept. while they investigated him. What does this mean?

@realDonaldTrump A lynching? How dare Trump compare the impeachment inquiry to a lynching when he falsely accused the Central Park 5 of rape and paid the New York Times to publicly call for their brutal executions. That would’ve been a lynching, but I guess they just spent years in jail instead.
@realDonaldTrump Emmett Till was a 14-year-old boy boy who was falsely accused of sexual harassment by a white woman in Mississippi and then brutally lynched. That’s what a lynching looks like without due process. His mother held an open casket funeral to show the world what American racism is.
@realDonaldTrump Because of Emmett Till and that photo, Rosa Parks was so heartbroken and indignant that she refused to give up her seat on the bus, playing a pivotal role in the Montgomery bus boycott. That’s the effect a lynching has on a suffering people who have been lynched for generations.

To me, the most amazing moment in Calvin's Institutes is when he says that the content of general revelation is (though we fail to perceive it) exactly the same as the content of special revelation
Theologically, I think the richest part of Calvin's Institutes is his explanation of the unity of the OT and NT. The greatest patristic authors struggled with this problem - Tertullian, Irenaeus, Origen, Augustine - but Calvin's treatment is profounder and more satisfying by far
Ethically, the richest part of the Institutes is Calvin's exposition of the Decalogue. Each prohibition implies a positive responsibility, and each individual responsibility implies a larger social ethic. Almost nothing in patristic or medieval moral teaching is as rich as this

📣📣 2 common misconceptions in (fairly decent) coverage of our #housing report.
1. We are only talking about NEW homes not connecting to gas grid. This is technology-neutral
2. Heat pumps do not cost 25k. That's a cost of retrofitting to EPC A / zero carbon homes spec... (1/5)
... which as we state, in practice you'd probably just not do. It's a thought experiment to show the benefit of designing more efficient ultra-low energy bill homes from the start for ~5k. A one time opportunity not to miss. (2/5)
For existing homes, we call for a heat strategy within 3 years which deploys low- and no-regret options and develops key options for remaining gas heated buildings (3/5)
