1) I’ll do a thread on CNN and MSNBC’s coverage here, but I just started Inside Politics and within 5 secs the headline they used was “All about Warren” so I have feeling this will be even more enraging than usual
2) inside Politics continues to promote Warren, while not covering Bernie ,I have outside of his answer about his health and AOC‘s endorsement all in about 10 secs. Next they claimed nothing was changed last night. They tried to weasel Mayor Pete in a bit as well.
3) Btw I have to apologize as my autocorrect has only gotten worse since I downloaded the new iOS version. I’m not even sure half of my previous tweet even makes sense. Autocorrect has me out here sounding like Joe Biden on a debate stage.
4) Anyway next we got some fun scientology commercial for some reason followed by more talk of basically just Warren and Biden while claiming is at “the head of the pack” and that it’s only being charitable to Biden to say they are there together. So far Yang has gotten more
5) coverage. Next we had live footage of Biden speaking that was then interrupted for Trumps insane presser. Only thing of note during that is that CNN has the nerve to run on the scroll that Bernie Sanders also supporters Medicare4All which implies that it’s Warren’s thing
6) Next hour was all Trump stuff. After that we get yet another segment centered completely around the idea that last nights debate was all about Warren being the new frontrunner. It’s all gushing about Warren except when they talk about Medicare4All as they keep attacking her
7) on it. We also get some Booker coverage for some reason. After that we had more trump coverage as well as a segment on North Korea’s leader riding a horse on a mountain.... no really.
8) There was more Trump stuff before we got our first real coverage of Bernie 3 hours and 50 minutes into my watching the program. This segment was about AOC and the squad more and was ok as at least they talked about Bernie’s appeal to young voters despite Dana Bash covering it
9) We are now up to 4 pm and have had maybe 5 mins of total coverage about Bernie over the past 4 hours. Nothing about him the first 35 minutes of the show tho Tapper did interview Rand Paul about how awful socialism is for some reason as I guess he wrote a book or something
10) We literally have a company that refinances student debt now advertising on CNN as I guess that’s just another reason for them to be against Bernie as that company wouldn’t exist to buy ads if college debt was forgiven
11) Anyway nothing during the entire hour on Bernie, and if I’m not mistaken they didn’t even cover the debate at any point either. And with that I’m done with CNN until 7 pm. So let’s go to msnbc now
12) actually first I want to mention that my tv was still on CNN who just claimed that Warren‘s team is now saying they are going back on their support for Bernie’s bill and will be looking at possible other options to pay for it. WTF!! This is some Kamala level flip flopping
14) starts at the 6:39 et mark if anyone has the clip.
15) Velshi and Ruhle was all Trump during 1 pm hour. Next half hour was all Trump but after that we had a segment making sure to call Warren as the frontrunner. There’s a continuing trend of praising Warren while also attacking her a bit in Medicare4All
16) next hour we got more Trump stuff followed by a segment on Warren following the exact same formula as the previous segments of praising Warren while going after her a bit in Medicare4all. We get a clip of Bernie saying taxes will go up a bit but only to contrast against Liz
17) after that we literally have Zerlina Maxwell and the lady who famously called all Bernie supporters sexist the other week, SusMann, in a panel together with no one else and I just hoped the segment would end. Luckily they only praised Warren and took bit of a shot at Biden.
18) Bernie was briefly mentioned while they interview Tom Steyer and they even showed how uneven the talking time was for everyone, but even then Bernie was only used as a Segway to Steyer. 3 hours into msnbc coverage and it’s essentially been a Bernie blackout
19) Next hour was Deadline: Whitehouse and as I expected they took Trump‘s bait are we’re 100% Trump coverage.
20) After that we had MTP daily which aired 40 minutes to cover the debate and they once again framed the debate as “Warren vs the world” and later “rivals take aim at Warren” which has been the narrative on basically every Dem primary segment on both CNN and MSNBC
21) I kid you not Chuck todd just mentioned that they had only talked about 2 candidates outside of Warren and Biden in Klobuchar and Pete and Then asked what that meant for basically every other candidate by name while still not mentioning Bernie.
22) Talk about Pete fundraising from last night with no mention of Bernie’s fundraising. This might be the best embodiment of a Bernie blackout of any show so far today. Plenty of debate on primary on a number of candidates with nothing on Bernie or AOC at all. Total blackout
23) This is chuck todd at his worst. Others might try to blackout Bernie by only focusing on a few candidates for a few minutes, but Todd does it in a way that seems like he is intentionally trolling Bernie and his supporters
24) The distinction is that Todd didn’t just ignore Bernie. He and his guests acted like they were living in an alternate reality where Bernie literally wasn’t on the stage and didn’t exist.
25) He even did a segment about his Nationals making the World Series and how he watched that live instead of the debate.
26) Absolutely no debate coverage during the 6 pm hour as instead Ari was all Trump and also interviewed Maddow who plugged her book.
27) We got Kornacki once again filling in for Matthews during Hardball and it was all Trump for the first 40 minutes and then had a small segment on the polling in Iowa which actually acknowledged Bernie a little even tho the point of the segment seemed to be pumping up Pete
28) 48 minutes in and we finally get some debate coverage and it starts the same way every other segment has with a compilation of people challenging Warren on the debate stage and the claim that it’s proof that she’s the frontrunner. We get another clip where Bernie is only
29) used as part of Klobuchar’s attack on Warren being that Bernie is being honest about taxes and Warren isn’t. talking heads in panel discussion then say Warren is unquestionably the frontrunner.
30) And at 7:52 eastern time we get the very first Bernie question of the day on MSNBC that I’ve seen in the almost 7 hours of programming I’ve watched just on MSNBC. Kornacki actually asks his panel what they thought of Bernie And his endorsements. This lasted for under a min
31) before they changed the subject to Mayor Pete. So in 7 hours of programming, MSNBC spent one minute on Bernie’s debate and/or his endorsements. Just pathetic propaganda.
32) And going back to CNN or the final show I’ll be watching on that network, we got nothing for the first 50 minutes followed by a segment all about Warren being the frontrunner and getting attacked as Burnett runs the same video montage that every show has used
33) once again they followed it by saying Warren was wrong on healthcare while basically great on everything else. So we had 12 total hours of coverage across both networks, and outside of 1 and half segments on CNN and about 1 minute on MSNB, there was nothing on Bernie or AOF
34) I did miss the final 3 minutes of Erin Burnett due to the weather messing up my feed, but I’m not holding my breathe that she covered Bernie then either
35) Apparenlty in the final 5 minutes Burnett asked Ed Rendell about the AOC endorsement and he poo-pooed it

38) Just watched the rest of MSNBC shows and it was Wall to wall Trump coverage from 8 pm thru midnight with the only slight mention of the debate being when O’Donnell interviewed Klobuchar, just another sign that the media is trying to elevate her, and he essentially asked her
39) about how offended she was that Andrew Yang would say that the US has meddled in other countries elections, because apparently msnbc wants to lie about US history and defend the military/CIA as the upholders of freedom or some crap like that and pretend our record is clean
40) so for those keeping track at home, in 11 hours of MSNBC programming, we had less than 2 total minutes of coverage of Bernie‘s debate performance or AOC’s endorsement..... cool.
41) Any time there’s a bad poll or they think Bernie performed badly at a debate as they claimed he did after last months one, they find time to mention it almost every hour to smear him, but when he does well, it’s total silence
42) Because there’s basically only 2 options for the corporate news, specifically cable news. They either smear Bernie or they black him out. Which means they know damn well, that he killed it last night. That’s why they spent the day blacking him out rather than smearing him
