Can traceability and anonymity co-exist? Is there co-existence essential to bitcoin, or should we be driving towards one or the other.

Way more relevant than a dumb panel somewhere.

What we're talking about?

As the digital currency wars heat up, 3 key battlelines:

1. Nations vs. Private companies
2. Nations vs Nations (really, specifically China)
3. Pegged vs. Basket vs. Fractional Reserve vs. [.....]

In other words, this is a multi-dimensional war
My take?

Libra has accelerated everything. The default right now is that:

Govt's are racing to catch up, arguing that digital currencies are important, and that not allowing China to run away with it is important, but that the power needs to rest w/ them not private co's.

2. When we look at the cryptoasset universe, there are two distinct hemispheres: 1) Bitcoin and 2) everything else, which are commonly known as Alternative Cryptoassets or Alts
3. Bitcoin is more akin to the internet itself, which is composed of an open-source protocol stack called the internet protocol suite (consisting of http, TCP/IP, etc.)

A few too-long-didn't-listen takeaways: many #cryptoassets are shaping up as supply-side focused instruments that'll accrue value for providing suppliers access to "value-flows," similar to how a stock provides access to "cash-flows." Demand-side may not need native token at all.
Such #cryptoassets are more a replacement for equities, than for currencies, and majority of value will be projected via "discounted-value-flow" (DVF) models.

For those that have a demand-side component, there is likely to be an MV = PQ sleeve, requiring sum-of-the parts models

The programmer/developer and the architect of Bitcoin have never actually met in person. They've never even had so much as a two way correspondence. The dev was given very explicit instructions on where to rendezvous in 10 years, how to get the architect there,

...and how the architect was to identify the developer.

What's more, the architect purposefully repressed the memory of his own involvement in Bitcoin's creation. ALL of this was intended to protect the anonymity of both parties. All can and will be proven beyond a doubt.

The developer of Bitcoin did not disappear. In fact, he's been hiding in plain sight the entire time. If "Satoshi Nakamoto" were the CEO of a major company within the blockchain space he would no doubt be using a logo or mascot implicit of his cunning.
