Richard Blumenthal says he will be adding the G7 at Trump Doral to his emolument lawsuit against the president.
"It's kind of so brazen and craven that it's virtually saying to heck with the rule of law,” Blumenthal said.
“If you wanted a classic violation of the United States Constitution, you couldn't think of a clearer set of actions.”
“It's point blank, a violation of the premier anti-corruption provision of the United States Constitution, the emolument clause, because it will involve payments and benefits, and promotion, to the president's property, with money going into his pocket from foreign governments."
Blumenthal dismissed White House claims that Trump wouldn't profit.
"The question is not profit, it's money and payment, and we'll never know whether there's profit because it's not a public corporation and he's not releasing his tax returns."
