To be a patient, you must have a job. Most have jobs that put them out of the cost sharing benefit of the ACA, so they would have $6,000 deductibles which they cannot afford since most have chronic illness. 1/x

The majority of what we see is diabetes, hypertension, heart and lung disease. Patients are bus drivers, construction workers, cleaning people, landscapers, etc. 2/x
I had a patient today who was in the last step of getting a job with insurance. BUT they required some immunizations and that she prove all her prior immunizations or get tested proving she had immunity. 3/x
She went to @Walgreens. To see her just to order the test they wanted $119. (FYI Walgreens wants to be primary care of the future.) 4/x
@Walgreens PLUS she would have to pay for the lab which would be a few hundred dollars more. 5/x
@Walgreens We were able to order some of the lab (a local lab provides services to us for charity) but we can't afford immunizations. We had to refer her to the health department for the immunizations. 6/x
@Walgreens It annoys me with how much productivity is wasted with our crappy health care system. A well-funded, well-run community health system with a nationalized patient record would prevent this 💩💩💩 7/x

@Walgreens It would provide basic primary care, dental care, mental health care, and vision care. AND it could serve as a base of preparedness in the event of bioterrorism or epidemics. This would help fix health care and lower costs! 10/x
