1949 Oldsmobile 98, but has taken a hit to rear of fender. That stainless steel piece is known as a "gravel guard." #DavesCarIDService
That would be the legendary "Ohio George" Montgomery's "Malco Gasser" 1933 Willys. Ford 427 SOHC motor, magnesium case Robinson-Montgomery blower, and Hillborn fuel injection. One of the chief combatants in 1960s drag racing Gasser Wars
Gasoline-powered coupes, or "Gassers," arose out of the NHRA's brief ban on nitro methane in the early 60s. Featured gigantic blown motors and straight axles. Willys cars were popular due to light weight. Gassers were eventual eclipsed by the rise of Funny Cars.
The Gasser Wars were wildly popular, and some of the top participants were Stone Woods & Cook, Big John Mazmanian, KS Pittman and Ohio George.
Nope, 1949 Olds 98 is the only gravel guard of the era with that shape and 4 vertical ribs. Feel free to prove me wrong
submitted for your approval: NOS 1949 Olds 98 gravel guard
Once again, I am basically hobbyist-level at this stuff; if you want to see a Grand Master at work, watch Steve Magnante on MotorTrendTV's "Junkyard Gold"
