1/n Democrats, but primarily liberal democrats, are more likely to say they enjoy seeing political opponents face scandals.
2/n Seems like the difference could be partly driven by young democrats (who are more likely to be liberal)
3/n Other interesting findings: Democrats are more likely than Republicans to say they've become more careful with the language they use
4/n Democrats are also more likely to say it is 'very important' to them personally to use language others do not find offensive
5/n Republicans (53% vs. 44%) are more likely to say it hard to know what others might find offensive
6/n Look forward to being able to access this dataset (probably in 2021, given Pew's data release policy)
7/n Democrats have become more likely to say that talking about politics with people they disagree with is generally 'stressful' and 'frustrating'. I suspect some of this difference driven by white liberal women.
8/n Here are responses to a similar question from a 2017 survey, which suggests an even greater divide (just under 70% of Dems vs. 52% of Reps find it stressful/frustrating) when it comes to discussing politics with those holding differing opinions of Trump.
9/n Interestingly, white democrats (74%) were significantly more likely to give a 'stressful/frustrating' response than their black (56%) and hispanic (62%) counterparts.
