Got some bad news for you. After Brexit, every single consignment from the EU will attract duties. So you'll have a notice to pay, and you'll have to trundle along to the Post Office and pay the duty plus an £8 handling fee. *There is no minimum purchase amount*. Thanks, Brexit!
I covered this in more detail in my book, but that's the gist of it. Magically other delivery firms e.g. ParcelForce also charge the exact same £8 handling fee. So imagine something that costs £10 from the EU now. After Brexit, it will cost £20 (£10 + £2 VAT + £8 handling fee).
What goes for us goes for the EU too. So if you're a UK business sending stuff to EU customers your product is magically going to be more expensive for them, and more hassle to receive.
Added: right now there's a minimum value under which no duty is assessed. The UK Government has indicated it will take advantage of Brexit to do away with that ie you'll pay on consignments of any value. And since every package will be assessed you can expect more scrutiny.
