White smoke. Unless Boris Johnson does something truly mind-blowingly stupid in the next 3 days, 31 October goes back to being Halloween and nothing else. Thank you, EU! You're better friends to us than we deserve, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate that friendship!
I'm sure we'll get more details *very* soon, but the EU seem to have cooked Boris Johnson's goose by refusing to give him a piddly little extension until mid-November so that he could have another quick bash at the WAB. Instead, they granted us *exactly* what we asked for.
Added: my "mind-blowingly stupid" reference in the first tweet refers to the fact that we still have to record the new date in domestic law, otherwise we will "leave" the EU while still being firmly inside the EU. Should be routine, but with BJ *nothing* is ever routine.
