Don’t expect any immediate action from EU. They watch carefully what unfolds in UK. They will not rush to answer a request for a new extension if receive it from UK. They want to keep pressure up on MPs /2
EUs legal #Brexit deadline remains 11pm in UK on 31 October. All EU leaders will return to Brussels for emergency summit to debate any new extension but they *could* do so as late as 31 October itself /3
EU v reluctant to approve a new extension now that a new#Brexit deal has been agreed between Eu leaders and the government BUT if push comes to shove, I cannot imagine they’ll refuse of extension sees a general elex, 2nd referendum or referendum on this deal /4
If EU leaders refused new extension by 31 October it would mean ushering in the no deal scenario they’ve spent last 3 years hoping to avoid. So: EU acceptance of new extension won’t be immediate, leaders are against idea in principle but eventually will prob say a grudging yes /5
