This teapot is giving me attitude
The physics of this is that the lid fits perfectly and is stable when the teapot is cold or empty. But the heat from the tea makes the plastic lid a little less stiff and expands it slightly, so the pressure of its edges against the glass launches it up into the air. ✨
(I should add that this doesn’t usually happen. It’s just an unfortunate coincidence of the precise sizes of a couple of the pot/lid combos. Usually the teapots are very well behaved!)
