Some Ukrainian officials were also unsure of how to respond to the political efforts of the president's personal lawyer, Rudolph Giuliani, and sought guidance from Lt. Col. Vindman.
We also report that the colonel brought his identical twin brother, Yevgeny, to one of the meetings where he raised concerns about what he had witnessed. Yevgeny also works at the N.S.C., as a lawyer.
The colonel is an Iraq war veteran who was wounded by an IED. “I am a patriot,” he plans to tell House investigators, “and it is my sacred duty and honor to advance and defend our country irrespective of party or politics.”
