This is appalling: Beinart gets applause for saying 'OK, let's define antisemitism in a way that suits the far-left & anti-Israel-activists. He's also lying when he claims there's no consensus in the US Jewish community about whether anti-Zionism is antisemitism.

Here's Hasan promoting MLH, and MLH getting a big tattoo glorifying Palestinian rock-throwers a few weeks after an Israeli Jew was killed by rock-throwing Palestinian terrorists on Rosh Hashana in September 2015.

#Israel is escalating aggressively in the region, striking sovereign, #UN-member states #Iraq, #Syria & #Lebanon in violation of international law. Important to note that any retaliatory measures from within any of these states against Israel & its military allies are legal.
Int'l law only allows "use of force" vs a sovereign state 1) in self-defense; retaliation against military aggression upon a state's territorial integrity 2) UNSC-authorized "collective action" to maintain int'l peace & security. #Israel has neither of these legal justifications.
#Israel asserts that it has to right to preemptively target perceived adversaries in any country, at any time, in any manner. This is illegal, rogue state behavior and an immediate threat to international peace & security. UN member states must censure Israel - or be complicit.

'stop criticising Israel' - said no Zionist ever. People are free to criticise Israel. #Antisemitism allegations are about stopping antisemitism. Calling all Brits child-killers because of the Iraq War isn't criticism.
2. Israel is an Apartheid state

Israel is a fully functioning democracy. It has experienced conflict and has those outside that want to destroy it. The cousin of an Israeli from Haifa could be living in Ramallah = this is not a division by race.

Just to state the obvious: This is largest confrontation between #Israel and #Syria since 1973; the first time #Iran and the IRGC themselves launched missiles at #Israel. Expect even more.
With all the targeting in Damascus #Syria, expect #Israel to go after the main IRGC headquarters near the Damascus Airport. Around 1,000 IRGC tend to be stationed there, along with senior leadership.
Suggestion: If you thought what the US did in response to the April CW attack in #Syria was strong, fasten your seat belts.

Lots of articles, some useful podcasts from some of the pro-Corbyn commentariat on left antisemitism but three words noticeably absent from the debate. Jewish. Labour. Movement.

Also, the role new-left media has played in fostering an antisemitic culture has been overlooked 2/
Opposing left wing antisemitism means challenging parts of new-left media where anti-Jewish bias is prevalent. There's just no way round this. Some specific examples: The Canary's been on a mission to normalise the Nazi metaphor with Israel. (Really helpful guys, thanks)
