I've shared this story before but I'll share again. My greatest good deed lesson came from an atheist. 2005. Houston TX. I landed at the airport without cash trusting funds in my ATM Card. No machine would disburse cash to me. Network down in Nigeria. I was effectively stranded.
I was told to go & use the Metro Bus to town. I was told if I explained my situation to the Bus driver, he'd carry me. I approached the driver & explained to him. Hop in he said. Off we headed downtown. Luckily, I had booked my accommodation at the Hilton Westchase.
Unfortunately for me, the last bus stop was still a ways from the hotel & I had 2 large suitcases as it was a long trip. I explained my predicament to the driver. He said no problem. He'd sign out for the day at the office & carry me in his car to my hotel.
So I hung around until he signed out & loaded my suitcases in his car. He drove me like 20 mins to my hotel & helped me offload my stuff. I told him God bless you & he said 'I don't know about God but be sure to do good to people when it is within your powers'.
He is Haitian & doesn't believe in God. But he had basic human kindness. So ever since, as payback for his kindness, I have consciously helped people whenever it is within my powers.

So I convey that message to you. Do good whenever it is within your powers.

Udo.
