It's very clever at speaking in the language of liberal journalists, the rhetoric we critiqued on the "Policy Wonkery, Political Wankery" ep of @whatisleftpod. For all it's verbosity, the plan actually contains very little. Nothing universal nor transformative. It's conservative.
The whole thing is predicated on funding from warrens fantasy wealth tax — she has neither the skills nor the political will to enact that tax. Even if she did it would lead to legal challenges, implementation challenges and potential capital flight.

Elizabeth Warren finally answered CFR's questions, and it's bad. The section on Palestine is a mess. She calls for a fortification of NATO, "containing" China, Russia, and Cuba on Venezuela, and she says something racist about population growth in Africa.

To be fair, Sanders said this during the climate forum and was rightly criticized for it.
Bernie Sanders also released his answers to CFR. The parts about increasing pressure on Russia & working w/ Saudi Arabia are not good. The part about North Korea is stronger than Warren's, as is his reference to colonialist/imperialist history in Africa. cfr.org/article/bernie…

Today, dedicated payroll taxes are relied upon to operate Social Security and *some of* Medicare. There are two Trust Funds associated with each of these federal programs. Social Security's Trust Funds are: OASI (Old-Age and Survivors Insurance) and DI (Disability Insurance).
Medicare's two separate Trust Funds are: Hospital Insurance (HI) and Supplementary Medical Insurance (SMI). Each year, the financial health of Social Security and Medicare is evaluated in the form of an Annual Report of the Trustees. ssa.gov/oact/TRSUM/
