I feel that Donald J Trump must be impeached. Who am I to say such a thing? The most important thing I am is a citizen of the United States who wants all United States citizens to choose their elected officials without foreign interference. Other than that, I am Jane Q. Public.

I first heard Trump ask Russia for dirt on HRC, but the Mueller Report determined there was no collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. I didn’t agree but I accepted the ruling. It was at this time I thought, just like my students I don’t set them up to fail.

That was Trump’s huge warning-don’t do it again.

Then in 2019 in an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Trump said that if a foreign government provided information on a political opponent, Trump thought it would NOT be considered interference in our election process.

Yikes! Did Trump not learn anything from the Russian probe?

To make sure Trump understood FEC laws, Ellen Weintraub sent a memo on illegal contributions from foreign governments in June 2019.

Then we find from Trump & Mulvaney that Trump had asked Ukraine to find “dirt” on the Bidens. Mulvaney later tells us it was quid pro quo.

But that was not enough! Trump then says China should also investigate the Bidens. (There are varying reports whether Michael Pillsbury received “dirt” or not).

If Trump had made an honest mistake and never did it again, I can try to understand that, but he continued asking foreign countries for election interference. Is Trump still having people working on a Ukraine investigation? Is China investigating the Bidens?

And that is why this Jane Q. Public supports the impeachment of Donald Trump. I have no confidence that trump won’t again ask for foreign intervention in our 2020 election. There is no guarantee that our national security won’t be compromised.

FEC Chairman made clear what a “thing of value” includes.

I know this is way too long but I think it is important that we, the US citizens have a secure government and we choose our own elected officials without foreign interference.
