A few weeks ago, we published a paper presenting a library of 1000s of human gut bacterial isolates and associated genomes:

This work nicely complements the great work of
@LawleyLab's group (@_sam_forster_) and Liang Xiao's lab who also recently published isolate & genome collections of human gut bacteria:

Isolate collections provide the necessary material for mechanistic research and give access to strain-level genetic & functional variation, which often is substantial and ind-specific. I hope for all these libraries to advance microbiome science and human health!
