Breaking: Roger Stone trial just recessed when a man, mid 40s screamed and fell into a seizure.

@CourthouseNews Roger Stone was not in the courtroom, having walked out sweating just minutes before accompanied by his wife.

To clarify, the man a member of the public was convulsing on the floor in the back row and his feet could be heard hitting the bench as the courtroom emptied.

He was standing in line for about an hour before the courtroom opened, wearing a trench court and brimmed hat.

EMT just arrived with a stretcher but at the same time the man exited the courtroom walking down the hall.

He was shaking a little as he walked and is now sitting down in an upright position on the stretcher, medics strapping him in to wheel out.

Rodger Stone is still in the bathroom, after exiting the courtroom sweating over half an hour ago. Overheard his wife asking if he was ok about 15mins ago.

So far attorneys have only got through questioning one prospective juror, woman, late 30s.

Her husband works for DOJ Nat Sec division & she was the comm director for OMB under Obama.

Judge Jackson said working for the govt/opinions on Trump are not reasons to be struck.

Four prospective jurors questioned, all fed employees, 3 are lawyers.

Roger Stone returned to the courtroom for the questioning. He’s still looking unwell.

These are career govt employees, who worked under multiple administrations.

Still Stone's attorney has been asking about their opinions on Trump and if as a fed emp they would favor DOJ during the trial.

Judge Jackson so far has denied 3 motions to strike for cause (out of 4 potential jurors questioned) saying: "At this point Donald Trump is the chief executive for whom these individuals work."

Update: Roger Stone has gone home with food poisoning. He waived his right to sit through jury selection and said he hopes to be back tomorrow.

His wife left with him but daughter is still in the courtroom.

10 jurors have cleared the first hurdle of questioning, 9 of them women. Many voiced opinions on Trump.

Judge is trying to get to a pool of 34 prospective jurors to pick the final 12 plus 2 alternates.

Correction: 10 prospective jurors have been questioned. So 24 left to get to a pool of 34 to choose the final jury.

Jury selection still rolling on the Roger Stone trial.

19 prospective jurors cleared, 12 sent home, many have voiced opinions on Trump.

Two used the word corruption to describe the current state of the govt.

One prospective juror interestingly used Stone’s own words (a “dirty-trickster”) to describe the defendant.

Stone’s attorneys motioned to strike for cause. Judge Jackson said she believed the PJ that he could be fair and impartial but “in an abundance of caution” sent him home.

At this pace the jury won’t be in the box till tomorrow so prospective jurors #60-82 are being sent home.

Judge wants a pool of 32 to pick the the final 12 plus 2 alternates.

Getting mixed info from the judge and court staff on if they’re aiming for 32 or 34 prospective jurors here.

But either way we’re at 29 now and Judge Jackson wants to push through for another 30-45 mins so final selections can be made tomorrow to get the jury in the box.

Judge Jackson originally set opening statements for tomorrow also. TBD if that schedule holds given how late jury selection started up this morning.

And that's a wrap for day one of the Roger Stone trial. After a alarming start to the day, the jury selection plugged along and Judge Jackson now has 34 prospective jurors set to return tomorrow to select the final 12 plus 2 alternate jurors.
