Hill’s distress at the GOP questioners’ seeming indulgence of conspiracy theories on 2016 elections and fodder that gives Russia for 2020 
Hill: The Russians thrive on misinformation and disinformation ... the Russians were who attacked us in 2016. and they’re writing the script for others to do the same. & if we don’t get out act together, they will continue to make fools of us internationally.

Hill on working extraordinarily long days, but having to track what Giuliani was saying almost every night on TV: People were constantly saying to me: My God, have you seen what Giuliani is saying now?&it was clearly starting to create this..meta alternate narrative about Ukraine
Hill: I came to realize that one way or another Ukraine was being used as part of the discussions & debates around the elections..I saw..being bundled together: somebody’s nefarious business dealings,..alternate retellings of what happened in 2016..digging up dirt on candidates

Hill said she was shocked when she read redacted transcript of Trump Zelensky 7/25 call to see Trump threats against Amb. Yovanovitch, demand to investigate the Bidens. “I have not seen anything like this. & I was there for 2 1/2 years. So I was just shocked.”

Hill: Russia “very interested in finding out whether they can drive a wedge btw Ukraine & the US.” Putin “himself always points to corruption in Ukraine. It’s become kind of shorthand for this is not a..sovereign country.”
Hill on official in NSC exec secretariat in May saying Trump may want to speak to Ukraine director Kash and Kash Patel not being Ukraine director. “So I basically did not engage any further because I was wondering to myself: that’s very strange.”
Hill: Let’s just say it’s a red flag, when someone you barely know is involved on..one of your policy issues and is clearly providing..materials outside of the line that we don’t even know what those materials were
