Okay here I come @One_Sexy_Missus & co.
My MCM Emir has ruffled the feathers once more & as expected the dragging begins.
Yes! His highness has demystified that age old royal stool by refusing to be mute in a society bedevilled by all sorts of vices but hell bent on silence.
A silence that has sustained an artificial normalcy within and outside the region. A silence that has stalled any form of criticism within & outside the people.
Many ask he is more audio than active. You want to see him build classrooms and sponsor 100 girls abi?
MSII is smarter than that and aspires for more. Schools for girls & sponsorship of girls is a drop of bleach in an ocean of blood.
Those having analytical minds understand what SLS is trying to do. His aspiration is a North wide revolution, a North wide reform from all spheres.
The man craves the emergence of a just northern system. A system where women and their children become worthy members of the society. A system where the true teachings of Islam are adhered to. A system where the Emir becomes more that a tax swallowing silent stool occupier.
SLS is an Emir that is repeatedly taking Kano to the global limelight. One who adds quality beyond a durbar & magnificent robes.
An Emir who has taken time to build a family law within Islamic confines to address the root of northern Nigeria's issues (The selfish family system).
The week MSII was to present the Family law to the State Assembly his kingdom was split into four or so & his political powers reduced. The emirate system if properly utilized holds the key to social reform & that is behind the adoption of indirect rule by the colonial masters.
The selfish family system is behind the many out of school children roaming the streets. Illiterate parents & helpless mothers are behind the gap toothed toddlers sent to the streets to search for knowledge. So long these issues are unaddressed, the North remains in regression.
Instead of the Kano state government to embrace such a man capable of assisting in bringing unparalled development to a state already ahead of most of its northern counterparts. Inferiority complex has made them resort to a childish & cheap politics of clipping the Emir's wings.
If Kano had taken the bull by the horns and implemented that family law, it may have spiralled the redefinition of many of the challenges of Hausa society because many other northern states look up to Kano. Instead of dragging MSII to be silent, we should sustain the momentum.
The north needs to tell itself the truth. The north need to break that age old silence & take the bull by the horns. The Nortg needs to fight the stagnation & move forward. The north needs to harness its true human resource not just empty boasting of numbers for political clout.
It is time we support any leader of northern extraction with the guts to speak out and fight for #ArewaReform.
Let us also #BreakTheSilence, #KeepTalkingForChange and fight for #ArewaReform.
