The Federal Government investment to tertiary health institutions is N309bn, very low right?

Over the years, FG's health budget has been below 10% of the total budget.

This is too low, @MBuhari, for an exponentially growing population.

Only 3% of Nigerians have health insurance, 90% of health expenses are paid from citizen's pocket. Meaning if you can't afford the health services you are a step away from health-induced poverty or worst still death.

Only a few states have allocated above 10% of their total budget to health investment. Nigeria falls short at both federal and state-level with health investment. 3.7% of the total 2020's proposed budget was allocated to health.

We need to give greater attention to health care.
The rates of infant, maternal and under 5 mortality, stunted growth and acute malnutrition keeps increasing in the country because Nigerians are facing huge challenges in accessing primary health care infrastructure and personnel with the extreme poverty in the country.
It is no doubt that investing in health infrastructure, training of medical personnel and escalation of the emergency mechanism are very pressing issues needed for the development of the nation, but also management and an accountable framework is also a big topic to be addressed.
The right brain development of a child requires adequate and quality nutrition, acute malnutrition is a critical problem in Nigeria, which has grave consequences on the capacity of children's today and tomorrow and also economic development of a nation.
The recent school feeding to primary schools by the federal government is commendable.

But the questions now are: what is the nutritional value of the meals served? And what quality of food items are used in cooking?
To enable minimum paying citizens access to quality health care, govt needs to rapidly invest in health insurance.

Which of these do you think the government needs to do to achieve results?
