Laura Cooper is correcting her testimony about when the Ukrainians first asked about the hold on Ukrainian security assistance. She had testified she first heard from Ukraine about it Sept. 5. Her staff subsequently showed her emails from July 25 (!) showing Ukraine was asking.
July 25 obv is the day of Trump’s now famous phone call with Zelensky.
In her exchange with Schiff, Cooper explains that the Ukrainian embassy inquired with both the Defense Dept and the State Dept about an issue with their aid money on July 25th—the day of the Trump-Zelensky call.
No one has asked what response, if any, was given to Ukraine’s inquiries on July 25th or whether Cooper will produce the relevant emails and it’s slowly but surely killing me.
