Based on testimony of the NSC witnesses, what happened here is apparently Vogel's source (Lutsenko?) spun him a yarn, and he printed it. That's reporting.
Pretending that an anonymous and unverifiable article is true in the face of contrary testimony from our own IC is silly.

And that's where we are right now. The GOP would prefer to accept the anonymous word of unknown Ukrainians over the assessment of the U.S. intelligence community bc that's the only story that protects Donald Trump.

It's interesting that we were able to uncover Russian 2016 interference in detail, and by "we" I mean the US intelligence community and both sides of Congress, and yet the GOP's theory of Ukrainian interference is completely opaque and ONLY a Ukrainian investigation will do.
Russia left its fingerprints all over the election. So much so that, y'know, we didn't have to ask Russia to investigate itself.
