Jesus when teaching us to pray said

He must therefore mean forgiveness of acts of sin, behaviour not in alignment with our new nature as Kings and priests, children of God, and Gods will.

The book of James goes into details of how temptation is not from God but from within us (our unrenewed flesh)
So we pray for grace to deliver and keep us from yielding (surrendering) to temptation.
