Our mission is not to rescue people from hell and get them rapture ready: our mission is to reconcile people back to living full lives — oneness with God, and pursuit of excellence in the world, motivated by love for mankind in addition to the ministry of reconciliation.
Saul of Tarsus was as Anti Christ as can be. He led several successful campaigns to murder Christ professing people and groups (Stephen the most popular of the lot.)...
Christ himself evangelised Saul.
Jesus didnt waste time condemning Paul to hell; instead he saw the God-given gifts, talents and energy the man had (but had submitted to perverse usage) and called him into a path of transformation.
Did Christ make Sual of Tarsus into Paul so he could sing beautiful songs and kabash and make heaven? No!

He (through the existing apostles) disciples Paul, and set him off to transform the world. Two millennia after Paul’s work is still a pillar of the Gospel.
Imagine a gang leader turned around into a community business man that empowers the youth under his wing via ethical and godly practice amidst the odds...
Or a pimp, skilled at human trafficking, & exploiting young ladies via prostitution and drug pushing: imagine him or her spearheading a home, NGO or youth group to reorient, empower young ladies to ethical and godly business and vocational practices as well as wholesome living.
Imagine being able to reconcile those who brainwash young, men and women into extremist groups — motivating and training them to give their lives if need be for debatable causes. How much impact will such individuals make in a generation.
Imagine a world that power players like Trump, Hitler, Saddam Hussein, or Kim Jung Un were reconciled to God’s original purpose for their lives. Imagine the changes reconciled heavy hitters in politics, industry, sports and economics can effect.
Christ didn’t tell Paul to abandon his gifts. No! Christ restored His purpose to Paul, and Paul channeled the same gifts and zeal to transform the world.

Christ didn’t save Paul to take him to heaven, and Paul was as evil as can be.
This is not a religious conversation.
The Great Commission basically commands you to become Jesus to every “Saul of Tarsus” you come across:
1. Reconcile them to God
2. Disciple them
3. Give them room to exercise their God-given talents and passions to pursue life on God’s terms for them — not yours.
How can you look at all these opportunities and all these instructions, and be so eager to perpetually lock yourselves away in your cozy rooms and fancy worship structures, yet reusing to engaging culture; yet refusing to believe that Sauls can still become Pauls today as of old?
Christ didn’t tell Paul to wait for the “new heaven and earth” before he can have dominion and transform 2 millennia worth of generations:

How in God’s name do you believe that your case is different? Who lied to us?
Get up, seek the Lord. Take your staff, or just your hands and get to work. Rapture isn’t coming as soon as you think — people have waited 2 millennia.

Maybe when you die. But then I pray long life over you — so are you gonna do nothing for the next 50 years +?

Get to work.

Another example
Moses before hearing God desperately wanted to free his Israelite brethren from slavery. So much he liked an Egyptian.

He ran into the wilderness; became a shepherd.

When he met God, God told him (and gave him power) to go set the people free! All he wanted!
