Case in point, ponder the reality that despite the mountain of evidence cited in this thread about the socioeconomic/cultural sham and atrocity of Reagan’s presidency, he still remains the modern day GOP standard bearer b/c he successfully sold “sanitized” Jim Crow to America.
They literally waited until Reagan was 15 years dead and 30 years gone from the White House to publicly admit what Black people and reliable White allies instantly knew about him since the day he campaigned on “states rights” in Philadelphia, Mississippi. theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/…
In other words, it shouldn’t take ~40 fucking years to fact check White supremacy. Trump’s gotten this far not just because the GOP is enabling him, but also because American society insists on pretending the racism that keeps giving them unchecked power isn’t actually there.
