My rage is still fresh but I’m still rational enough to know for a fact that I’ll never forgive Biden or Bernie for turning the 2020 D primary into a throwback to the past and refusing to let the next generation of leaders lead us into the future. This is a setback, not progress.
And folk still have the nerve to be asking why Stacey Abrams didn’t throw her hat into this racist, sexist ass abomination of a ring. 🙄
Also to keep it all the way real, there isn’t a balm for the wound of 2016 in this primary. There’s no candidate who can surgically repair the reality that we nominated a woman who won the election with ~3 million more votes yet remain held hostage by an entire party of traitors.
We’re out here fishing for a consolation prize because we were robbed, but the robbery is still in fucking progress and they expect unexamined White privilege to finally wake up and police the shit.
Kirsten, Beto, Kamala. All 3 out MONTHS before any votes have been cast based on fundraising, media coverage and polls about how predominantly White voters in predominantly White states feel about them (if they even know they exist). This is what they’re calling a primary now. 😒
This whole process has amounted to just sitting back and waiting for White men to tell us which White man they want us to have. Waiting for money to tell us what money wants, and for privilege to tell us what privilege wants too.

We really need to think long and hard about what the future’s going to look like and how we’re actually going to clean up this mess after the folk who’ve already failed multiple times fail to right the wrongs once again. This system isn’t designed to fix itself by itself.
This primary is proof that the nefarious forces of money in politics have infected not just the right, but the left too. The fact that campaign wealth now supersedes a priority for the nominee to be a reliable ally to the D base epitomizes the corruption of the whole process.
It’s also proof that a lot of shit needs to change, beginning with how the primary starts in IA and NH. How do you jump outta the gates with erasure of your base? What kinda sense does that make? She may be out now but I STILL wanna know where you been and WTF are you gonna do?!
Personally, I feel taken for granted and as Kamala so eloquently stated on that Atlanta debate stage, I’m tired of being asked to show up for folk who haven’t proven they can show up for me. I’m tired of being told to settle for taxation without representation. Sick & damn tired.
I’m not the type to abstain from voting altogether but I for damn sure am the type to not hand out any free passes to whoever’s left standing in this fucking hunger game primary as it plays out. Expect the vet.
We’re only gonna get so many chances to keep fucking this up when it’s already become painfully clear that money has more power than the people do in choosing nominees and presidents; especially now that the identity of the people is becoming more diverse. Freedom ain’t free.
