Though Hester Jackson-McCray is disabled & can't afford a car, she spent 7 months walking door-to-door across her district.
After losing to Henley 66-27% in 2015, Jackson-McCray beat her by 14 votes last month.
Jackson-McCray was a nurse until she was laid off after an injury.

Henley defended herself against claims of racism & being a "1-percenter" with a video showing the mobile home she grew up in, a shed she says she once lived in, the apartment where her grandmother died, & her current modest home.

Henley posted a mailer in which Jackson-McCray promised Medicaid expansion, fully funding public schools, raising teacher pay, & ending corporate tax cuts.

To be clear, Rep. Henley is not requesting a recount; ballots have already be recounted at the local level. She's requesting that the result be vacated by the GOP House, nullifying the results and presumably triggering a special election.
