India is currently going through a terrible leadership crisis, politically and socially!

Apart from the leadership, India's followership is also in a terrible mess! There's a need for tall leaders to inspire people with better values... 1/n
Leaders who can re-ignite the vision and spirit India's founding fathers breathed into our Constitution. The spirit to instill values like freedom, justice, equality, fraternity inevitable for an inclusive, progressive united India.
Ministers swear an oath to safeguard...2/n
..constitutional principles. Often the oath is just a formally to be completed & forgotten immediately. Relevant part of the oath reads:

"I will do right to all manner of people in accordance with the CONSTITUTION and THE LAW, without fear or FAVOUR, AFFECTION or ILL WILL." 3/n
Now pause for a moment. Despite our Constitution & decades of rejecting any kind of discrimination, we are still struggling with an unconscionable law called CAB passed in LS. Its the 1st law of its kind which creates ill will & goes against the grain of our Constitution. 4/n
One must look at both NRC & CAB together. They're twins born from an evil idea. Thru NRC Govt shirks its job of identifying illegal immigrants. Instead, it throws the onus of proof on citizens. NRC is presumptious. Absence of doc, is assumed as proof of bng illegal immigrant. 5/n
Instead of dealing with a crippling slowdown & real risk of an economic collapse, Parl is hijacked into a divisive issue to shift focus away from real issues. This is plain dishonesty. Its immoral & anti poor. Any economic pain hits the poor first. Just like demonetisation.. 6/n
India needs moral cleansing. This cant be provided by wretches and creeps who only work to fulfill the ambitions of a few cronies.
But the problem is not just with leadership. The problem is also with the followers. Their inability to distinguish the wheat from the chaff. 7/n
The outcome in the recent Karnataka by-elections demonstrates this clearly. How can any leadership help the electorate which doesn't want help? It cant and shouldn't be forced. This only means that we will sink further down. Till people start to feel the pain sufficiently. 8/n
Plain dishonesty masquerades as honest. Let me illustrate. Unity comes from equality, fraternity & mutual respect.
Today leaders pretend they bring unity into by thrusting a language into an unwilling section. That's plain disrespect masquerading as unifying the country... 9/n
The quality of leaders at all levels is poor. They have warped thinking focused solely on raking up divisive issues which enable them to grab power. This comes at a steep cost. Every divisive issue creates hate. The hate remains in the system long after the leaders have gone.10/n
Another illustration is where a Union Minister goes out and felicitates/garlands 8 felons who are accused of a barbaric murder. BTW this Minister is Harvard educated. Of course his action does not reflect on Harvard, but the company he keeps... 11/n
For the most part in this decade, politicians who succeed have cared little about the means they employ to win elections. Everything is fair so long as they grab power. The ends fully justify ANY MEANS. So we have a bunch of problems to deal with...12/n
Some modus operandi deployed are : Incite hatred, perpetuate lies, indulge in slander, use trolls armies to silence dissent, paid celebrities to bend people's minds, distribute money, buy MPs &MLAs. Also, electoral bonds in place, ensures one party gets 95% of total amount. 13/n
Despite the absence of principles & not even a semblance of ethics in sight, all this seems normal. We find the EC carrys on as if everything is fine, media reports electns & psephologists try to make sense. As if this is normal. Of course, it's the new NORMAL! 14/n
A few yrs ago some of this would have caused an outrage. But now we read abt it & plod along. Its the new normal.
A terror accused is nominated for elections as MP. This is done with fanfare calling the nomination "satyagraha". Now dont look for logic & reason. Anything goes.15/n
Today, the party which tyrannises minorities, introduces the 1st discriminatory law in Indian history & claims it favours minorities of other countries.
In anr incident, a "RPF Jawan told voters to vote for BJP. Shot one when he objected."
This would have caused outrage.. 16/n
We have lost our idea of India. We are continuing to lose it. Every day a little is lost. India has become a different place. The media, the institutions, the courts even the people. They are dying.Where are we headed? INDIA and INDIANS, Please wake up! There is still time! n/n
