Someone accidentally stole my coat tonight. I assume it was the lady who left her similar grey coat on the coat rack after she left. I wonder what kind of adventure my coat is having and whether I will ever see it again. Also I now have no coat.
OK so I have an update on my coat's adventure. I went back the next day and the lady still hadn't picked up her coat. It really was similar to mine but I couldn't believe she hadn't realized she had a different coat. I decided to try hers on even though it was an XS.
I'm not an XS, clearly. But the thing was that it fit perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that I realized it was my coat. My mom insisted that I update you all even though it's hugely embarrassing what an idiot I am. I hope you're happy, mom!

Of applications for warrants to spy on US citizen Carter Page, IG says "numerous instances in which factual representations in those applications were inaccurate, incomplete, or unsupported by appropriate documentation."
IG reminds that it did "did not analyze all of the decisions in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation," but had a more limited scope.
In fact, IG specifically says "our role in this review was not to second-guess discretionary judgments by Department personnel about whether to open an investigation" -- something spin from media and their sources on IG's view of opening investigation neglected to mention.

Fashion criticism is great but Washington Post's fashion critic is almost always just "liberal politicians look amazing and conservative politicians look awful" but even for her, this is a transparently and laughably petty take.
And I say that as the author of this coat criticism from 2016 (which I think holds up pretty well!). thefederalist.com/2016/08/24/who…
the Post's fashion critic mocked the fashion of Chief Justice Roberts' very young children once. In fact, I started reading bylines nearly 20 years ago precisely because I read a piece of hers that was so awful that I wondered who wrote it.

1/ I am out for a few days, heading down to Ventura to help with horse rescue and treatment. I wanted to say something to the "#LEFT": Folks we have great candidates, most of them have attributes that blow the repiglicans out of the water, but we are failing them.....BIGLY
2/ We are failing them by the tribalistic bullshit that says that you cannot promote your candidate without "PUNCHING" the others in the gut. That makes our candidates look small and aids GOP in oppo research
3/ We can do better!!! We MUST do better! A lot of folks have there chosen candidate already and that's great! Kudos for you to have weighed all the factors and come to the conclusion that a specific candidate fits your bill. BUT, not ALL of us have gotten there..We need more.

Someone who saw an online report of my Keynote @WSoyinkaCentre with the headline “@MBuhari is Ruling A Divided Country” wondered @ my very rare use of the word, ‘rule’ instead of ‘govern’.
My Response: @MBuhari is not Governing Nigeria. He thinks Nigeria a Kingdom and he is King.
Does it appear to any reasonable Nigerian that @NGRPresident @MBuhari cares about what’s going on with his citizens? Is there any sign that the state of our Security, Economy, Human Capital, Physical Capital and Social Cohesion worry the President?
He thinks & acts like a ruler.
For as long as Citizens give the @NGRPresident @MBuhari a Free Pass to “balance in the opulence of the Villa” while delivering the shoddiest type of Governance, be sure he will continue to assume his usual entitlement.
Citizens have a Duty to let him know he is Accountable. ✍🏾

tonight’s police civilian review board meeting is in city council chambers. i’m the second person here and very pleased to be sitting in my preferred seat in chambers.
this board doesn’t usually meet in council chambers... we’re missing most of the board here a few minutes after our scheduled start time. maybe someone should go check city space & make sure they aren’t in the wrong venue.
the meeting hasn’t started yet but i’m not complaining because this is the only public body that consistently gets food that both actually feels like it’s open to public consumption & is something i would want to eat.
i’m comfortable saying boards that feed me get more leeway.
