House Dems (HJC) are expected to release 2 Articles of Impeachment this am, Abuse of Power & Obstruction of Congress, these may not be the only 2, but we're expected to see these today. Now, we wait to see who they have manage the Trial. (as 'Prosecutor') #TuesdayThoughts
Additionally, Dems are expected to announce that USMCA will be wrapped up today. Ironic, as this is Trump's top legislative priority, so if this deal is struck as Dems release Articles of Impeachment they'll also be handing Trump his greatest victory. #TuesdayThoughts
Spectacular irony: if the full House floor vote to Impeach Trump happens within days (as now expected) we'll see Dems Impeach Trump, clear USMCA and fund the government all in one week. THIS is the pattern of these times.. complete paradox. #TuesdayThoughts

Nadler just announced HJC are going into recess until 10am tomorrow morning, at which time they'll vote on the Articles of Impeachment. Collins objects-loudly. All hell breaks loose.
Collins is now yelling at the press as Committee members exit the hearing room. The hearing went for 14 hours & 18 minutes. It was expected to end at noon today.
Many of the GOP Committee members were scheduled to travel with a Congressional delegation to commemorate Battle of the Bulge & they are pissed.

Word is that when Dems move the Impeachment probe to Judiciary, Doug Collins (Ranking Minority member on HJ) will force procedural arguments with Nadler and fight when Dems try to bat them away. Marked diff from Nunes. Expect fireworks. #TuesdayThoughts
2-Collins is a fighter, & GOP believe that, unlike Schiff, Nadler can be knocked off kilter easily. Whereas Schiff spoke extemporaneously in complete sentences, Nadler-according to GOP research-tends to rely on notes. Jordan & Ratcliffe also on HJ. #TuesdayThoughts

@realDonaldTrump His obstruction of Congress and blanket directive to deny us even a single witness, a single document, is unprecedented. Yet, in spite of that obstruction, multiple patriots came forward and provided damning, corroborating testimony.
@realDonaldTrump Understand the seriousness of what this means: @RealDonaldTrump has solicited foreign interference before. He is doing it now. He will do it again.

The smoking gun is already re-loaded and whether or not it gets fired—that is up to us.

Start with the basics: the House will likely vote to impeach Trump and the Senate will vote to acquit. Is there a point to this process? I argue yes, for two reasons. (2/15)
One: moral. The impeachment clause in the Constitution was created by the framers to avoid an entirely foreseeable consequence: a ruler who is corrupt, criminal, and/or subject to foreign influence. (3/15)

Impeachment is a rarely used remedy, designed to guard against the most egregious abuses of power.

I did not come to Congress to impeach the President of the United States, but @realDonaldTrump—and the facts—leave us no choice. President Trump endangered the sanctity of our elections by inviting foreign interference in our most sacred democratic institution.
He betrayed our national security, violated the sacred trust of the American people, and threatened the very future of our democracy.

At every turn, he has obstructed the House—the people’s representatives—from doing our job and serving as a check against the Executive Branch.
